Swiss Top '07?

DRS3 vergibt ja traditionellerweise den Swiss Top-Award an Winterthurer Bands die irgendwie mit David Langhard verbandelt sind (2006: My Name Is George, 2005: David Langhard aka Admiral James T. gleich persönlich). Transmartha haben also gute Chance auf den diesjährigen Titel. Erstens sind sie aus Winterthur, zweitens erscheint ihr Zweitling auf DAvid LAnghards Label DALA Produkte (produziert hat allerdings nicht der Admiral, sondern Olifr M. Guz, den man als Sänger der Aeronauten kennt). Und drittens spielen Transmartha flotte Rockmusik, die schamlos in frühere Jahrzehnte zurückschielt, aber alles andere als verstaubt klingt. Angeblich haben sich Transmartha mit Burt Bacharachs Skizzenbuch in den Proberaum von The Clash eingeschlossen, die vorliegende Platte sei das Resultat dieser Versuchsanordnung. Nun, wir haben eindeutige Hinweise darauf, dass Bacharach nie ein Skizzenbuch besass und The Clash nie probten, insofern ist diese Darstellung als blanke Promolüge ad acta zu legen. Aber das tut nichts zur Sache, denn die Songs auf "Transmartha" sind clever arrangiert, melodiös und brutal abgeklärt, die Platte macht von vorne bis hinten Spass, die Rhythmen laden zum Shaken und Hüfte wackeln ein. Manchmal wird's leicht soulig (etwa bei "Are You The One?"), manchmal lugen Thin Lizzy vorbei, immer ist die Freude am guten alten Rock'n'Roll zu spüren. DRS3, bitte übernehmen Sie!

Transmartha taufen ihre Platte übrigens am 24. März im Gaswerk in Winterthur. Hingehen ist für Bewohner von Winterthur und Umgebung Pflicht!
