V.A. - The Nonesuch Collection Vol. 1 (Nonesuch/Warner)

Dank Wilco kam ich mit dem Warner-Sublabel Nonesuch in Berührung, das seit über 40 Jahren Musik aus den unterschiedlichsten Stilrichtungen veröffentlicht, die sich wohl am ehesten unter dem Etikett "erwachsen" zusammenfassen lassen.

"The Nonesuch Collection Vol. 1" enthält 16 Stücke zwischen Jazz, World Music, Minimal Music, Country, Pop und Rock und trumpft mit grossen Namen wie Emmylou Harris, David Byrne, Brian Wilson, Youssou N'Dour, Ry Cooder, Kronos Quartet, Brad Mehldau oder Steve Reich auf. Sträflicherweise fehlt Wilco-Drummer Glenn Kottche, der letztes Jahr mit "Mobile" ein fantastisches Percussions-Album zwischen Minimal Music und Jazz veröffentlicht hat. Die CD kommt leider relativ lieblos daher: Es gibt kein unveröffentlichtes Material, keine Linernotes und zumindest im Fall von Wilco ist auch die Songauswahl nicht wirklich gelungen (der relativ straighte Rocker "Shot In The Arm" passt nicht wirklich zwischen die anderen Tracks). Andererseits ist sie auch sehr günstig erhältlich. Noch günstiger ist sie hier und jetzt zu haben: Wir verlosen 1 Exemplar von "The Nonesuch Collection Vol. 1".
