SIGURD - Erste Lebenszeichen!

Chewy ist tot, es lebe Sigurd!

Die charmanten Indie-Rocker Chewy, nebst Favez einstige Speerspitze der Lausanner Szene, gibt es bekanntlich seit nunmehr bald 2 Jahren nicht mehr. Was machen die vier Protagonisten von Chewy denn heute eigentlich?

Greg Wicky, Sänger und Gitarrist von Chewy, hat sich mittlerweile mit Pendleton zurückgemeldet (sein Song "There Will Come Another" tummelt sich übrigens momentan in Form einer Cover-Version von Minor Majority in den norwegischen Charts!), Bassist Chris hat das Musizieren aufgegeben, verdient sich mittlerweile aber eine goldene Nase als Restaurantbesitzer in Lausanne. Mathieu Urfer, ebenfalls Gitarrist und Sänger, sowie Sebastien Altevogt (Schlagzeug) haben sich zusammengetan, Sigurd gegründet und stehen kurz vor der Veröffentlichung ihres ersten Albums. Bei Einflüssen die von The White Stripes über Dimmu Borgir und Emperor bis zu Jimi Hendrix, Honey for Petzi, Depeche Mode, Death und Sonic Youth reichen, darf man doch eingermassen gespannt sein. (Ich will nicht allzu viel verraten, aber dies vorweg: die Black Metal Einflüsse sind nicht sehr stark ausgeprägt)

Auf ihrer (noch etwas rudimentären) Homepage kann man sich bereits ein paar Songs (in mittlerer Qualität) anhören, darunter "No Sex, No Drugs, No Rock'n'Roll", ein Song der sich (trotz abgekupfertem Slut-Riff) rasch als Hit etablieren dürfte.

Ein Veröffentlichungsdatum steht noch nicht fest, ein Albumtitel hingegen schon: "Doppelgänger".
