Ein gelungener Abend für Emo/HC-Fans

Deus Ex Machina aus Ruswil existieren erst seit ca. einem Jahr. Vor Kurzem wurde ein Demo mit fünf Songs produziert. Anlässlich der Taufe dieser EP hatten die fünf Jungs die Zürcher Dryconditions und Dying in Motion eingeladen.

Los ging es mit Dying In Motion, welche mit abwechslungsreichen, anspruchsvollen Songs zwischen Hardcore und Emo einen Grossteil des Publikums mitzureissen vermochten. Danach zeigten Dryconditions, warum sie in Zürich schon massenweise Fans für sich gewinnen konnten. Ihr technisch perfekter, melodischer HC trifft genau den Zeitgeist, vorgetragen wurde dies mit einer Spielfreude, welche sich ohne Probleme auf das zahlreich erschienene Publikum übertrug.

Kurz nach zwölf betraten dann endlich Deus Ex Machina die Bühne. In Anbetracht darauf, dass diese Band erst vor einem Jahr ins Leben gerufen wurde, war diese Darbietung auf jeden Fall beeindruckend. Die Songs strotzen nur so vor Emotionen und Tempiwechsel, schaffen es aber, nicht in unerträgliche Frickeleien à la The Mars Volta auszuarten. At The Drive-In ist als grosser Einfluss herauszuhören, aber auch aktuellere Bands wie Thursday oder The Used. Das teilweise nicht mehr ganz nüchterne Publikum war begeistert. Zurecht. Deus Ex Machina haben ein grosses Potential. Man darf auf das erste richtige Album gespannt sein.
